What better way to start the week off than with an awesome giveaway and a before and after!!  I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to make my bedroom “guest ready” with some great items from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Wal-Mart!  I chose my master bedroom because it has been so neglected since we moved in our home.  It was “that room” that I preferred not to show anyone because it just wasn’t “guest ready”.  Well, I got the motivation with this great BHG challenge and I LOVE the items I found!  I also chose to spruce up my master bath a bit because I am in the process of revamping it as well!

Here is the before of my master bedroom:

After I did a little BHG sprucing:

I added the two square, ruffled pillows and the two super cute drum shades and moved on to the bathroom:)

Before:

After a few BHG picks;)

The additions to the bathroom are the two iron sconces, the metal plate (2 per package) and…

these super cute candlesticks!  Two rooms, guest ready for under $100!

Now here is the great part!  One lucky winner will have the chance to make their home guest ready with a $100 Wal-Mart gift card from Better Homes and Gardens!  To enter, just leave us a comment sharing the room in your home you would like to make guest ready and why!  We will announce the winner a week from today!

Here are a few more pics of my master bedroom and bath!  Good luck to all of you!  Don’t forget to stop by and “like”  the BHG Facebook fan page!

A huge thank you to BHG for helping me to make my master bedroom and bath guest ready!  Now it’s your turn;)

Good luck!

  6. Sad, but true. I would pick my living room. I am getting married in December and everything we registered for was what we needed. We really don’t need anything for the living room, but it could definately use some love. It’s full of things I’ve aquired as a single girl!

  7. Love what you did!!! Its amazing how a few new fresh things make a room feel “show worthy” and “welcoming”!!! Thanks for sharing, and inspiring!!! I would love to make my guest room more “welcoming”. I am in the process of working on it. Has always just been the “guest room” but never the “we are so glad to have you here” room!! I want to create that from the sheets on the bed to the storage in the closets!! I want people to enjoy staying in that room. I would also love to spruce up my guest bathroom because it is right down the hall from the guest room. Its always been our “sons bathroom” that guests use, now I want it to be the “guests bathroom” first!!! Needs that “welcoming, retreat” feeling!!! Want the bedroom feeling to spill over into the bathroom!!!

P.S. How did you paint your furniture? What products/equipment did you use? Thats something I would love to be able to do but have always been unsure what to use!!! And does anyone know where to get or how to make a great tailored burlap bedskirt??? Love Ballard Designs, but hate the price!!! Want one for my guest room!!!

Thanks for all your great tips, ideas, and pictures!!! I just discovered you guys about a month ago & have been loving it!!!

  9. Very hard to pick which room I would use this on! I should use it on my guest room as it is in the process of being re-done! But, I’d really like to use it on my master bedroom as I haven’t done much to it since building the house 6 yrs ago! 🙂 Great giveaway!

  10. I would love this gc!! My sister and her girls moved in with us since their house was flooded in Minot, ND. I would love to be able to decorate their bedroom so it feels more like.home!! Thanks for the chance!
