Hey there!  I took a little break from the Christmas craziness and finished a pair of night stands that I have been working on for my 11-year-old son.I got the plans for free over at Ana’s.  I built two for about $70.  I did spend about $20 on the pulls because I LOVE them.  They were $5 each but worth every penny to me:)  The cubes at the bottom are from Target and they fit perfect.  $5 each!

I love them, he loves them:)  I also bought those table lamps at Wal-Mart for $9.  They look very similar to lamps I have seen for more $$$ at PB Teen;)  These night stands were not difficult at all to build.  My favorite part is that you don’t have to install drawer slides!  You just use 1×2’s!!!

And, just for fun…..

Whit took our family Christmas Pictures for us this week:)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Hello! I’m new to this site, but I love it!! Could you help me find the actual plans for the night stand? I’ve looked on Ana’s site as well and can’t seem to find the step-by-step – I’m not one to look and build:). I need the details!! Thank you!

  2. I love the table! We’re going to be building some furniture for my son’s room this year. Can I ask what you used on the wood? Did you just stain it? What color? Your family pics are adorable by the way! I love your daughters boots. I’m your newest member 🙂 I’d love it if you had a moment to check out my blog! allthatbringsjoy.blogspot.com

  3. I LOVE this!!! The finish is so perfect, the rustic look totally rocks. I hope you’re going to share a tutorial soon–or at least tell us what type of wood and finish you used. Did you sand the wood after buying it? Thanks! Ana’s Blog is A-maz-ing, by the way.

  4. I love these side tables and would love to make them myself. I am in desperate need of storage and I think this could be perfect. Do you have more detailed plans/notes/tips on how to build them?

  5. Ashley they are beautiful, I love seeing Ana’s plans put to good use and finished beautifully. Would you mind sharing the stain color? PS – it’s so refreshing to NOT see a Christmas post, I’m so done with all the Christmas decor although it’s festive and fun I love reading posts about real life, real solutions from DIYers, to me these nightstands are better than any gift under the tree. And nice family photos too!
