Hey there!  I’m still working on my guest bathroom this week!  The last few weekends I have painted the walls, framed the mirror and built a towel hook.  I put together this fun Chevron Wall Art this weekend and it was inexpensive, quick and easy…SCORE!

Here’s how I made it for about $15!

I purchased 1.5 yards of burlap and unfinished MDI letters at Hobby Lobby.   With a coupon for the burlap and the letters at 30% I only spent about $7 total!

Next, I bought a 2×4 sheet of 1/4″ plywood for about $6 from my local hardware store.  I cut this board down to 46″ x 18″.  I eye-balled the dimensions based on the MDI letters and the space I needed it for.  I used a latex paint that I had matched to the trim in my house to paint the plywood and MDI letters.

I cut the burlap down to 43″ by 15″ and made the Chevron stencil with my Silhouette CAMEO.  How to make a stencil with the Silhouette.  I just used a Chevron print and sized it the thickness I wanted and cut about 4 pieces over and over until it covered the burlap.

Next, I took it outside and sprayed about 3 coats of Rust-Oleum Summer Squash spray paint all over!

I laid the burlap in the center of my plywood and hammered a furniture nail into each corner.  I purchased a small box of these at my local hardware store for about $2.

Now it’s time to add the letters!  I used Gorilla Glue Epoxy to attach each letter.  I put a large amount on the back of each letter and placed them directly onto the burlap.

I used picture hanging wire and brackets to hang her up on the wall.  I purchased this kit a while back at my local hardware store and it has lots of fun hanging brackets. You can use any picture hanging bracket but I do suggest anchoring a screw into the wall for extra security!

That was it!

A large wooden sign for $15 and about an afternoon of work:)  This bathroom is very small and with no windows it can feel very dark.  I love how the white accents and this sign help to open it up and give it light!   Thanks so much for stopping by!
