Paint Colors !!

Hey friends!

I am in the middle of revamping my bedroom (can’t wait to share!), and I will be tackling the wall paint tomorrow.

We get asked about our wall colors all the time, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share!

I am going to go with the same color I used in the rest of my house.  I LOVE it.  I think it’s the perfect neutral.  It has just enough gray, cream and white in it to go with just about anything.

It is a Valspar color called Homestead Resort Parlor Taupe

I hate showing paint chips on the computer because I know it will look different to each one of you.  So, here are a few pics of the color in action in other parts of my house!

Here it is in my entryway!  I love how it looks with my bench and hook shelf!

I also have my living room painted this color!  Here it is behind my LOVE sign!

I also have it as the wall color in my oldest girls’ room!  Here it is with their desk I made them from our old barstools!

It’s also the top color in my oldest son’s room.  I split it up with a little trim, and I love how it blended with the blue!

Here it is behind his desk I made him and his $20 picture ledges!

 

And let’s not forget the trim paint!  I feel like these 2 are a match made in Heaven.  Well, Lowe’s actually. ;-)

My trim paint is another Valspar color.

It is called Ivory Lace.  It’s a perfect off-white and I do love the way it looks with the wall color.

Well…

I am back to work getting my bedroom done.  I am so excited to show you some of the changes I am making (including the new desk I built that I am currently sitting at)… That was just a little teaser for you. ;-)

    I absolutely love your home! My wall’s current color is a deep golden tan but I am craving a lighter and slightly cooler color. My floors are natural hickory (warm) and the carpet is also warmish in tone and my cabinets are a reddish cherry.

    I need the opinion of someone much more talented and wise than I am, changing the floors and cabinets is out of the question. Am I stuck with dark and warm or would something like your wall color be neutral enough to lighten it up and make it a bit more neutral?

    We don’t have a Lowes here and wondered how it compares to the navajo white that pottery barn uses? Or do you have a color that compares from home depot or benjamin moore?

    I got the swatch at lowes and it looks yellow! Nothing at all like what your walls look like. I’ve been looking for the perfect light greige (grayish beige) and your pictures seem like the perfect color, but the swatch looks NOTHING like your walls. Do your walls have any yellow in them at all? I have a tan on my walls now with a lot of yellow and don’t want any yellow at all. Thank you!

    Did you diy the coat hanging shelf too? Im thinking of replacing my b-room towel racks with that very same thing (just wanted to see how you did it if so :) also are your floors concrete? did you diy that? someone told me it was MUCH harder than they thougth it would be thx ps your home is amazing love everything (wish mine looked like that :)

    LOVE the color!! What type of sheen did you use? Samples at Lowes only come in satin which is fine but I know the color can vary slightly based on the sheen. Thanks for sharing your favorite colors. I’ve been looking for a nice, clean, neutral color since I’ll be doing fairly bold accent colors.
