Happy Friday guys!

With Father’s Day just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to throw a little something together to give my hubby from the kids.  I made this for his office and I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Now this is super simple to throw together.

You will need to adjust your board according to size.  I had 5 handprints to fit in so mine may be a bit larger than you need 😉

I just used a piece of 1×12 white wood.  You can get this at Lowe’s in 4ft pieces for around $5.  They can cut it to the size you need for free right there!  Just ask one of the guys to help you!

I gave the whole thing 1 coat of a fav stain of mine…

After that dried I sanded the edges a bit and added the clip!  These are Tim Holtz clips I found at Hobby Lobby.  You can also find them on Amazon below!

I used Gorilla Super Glue Gel to attach it to the side of my board where the printable will hang!

Finally I had all my little cuties do their handprints in order of age with some cream colored acrylic paint.  This was the most fun part 😉 !

That’s it!  Simple but so sweet at the same time.

  1. I plan on having my 4 children make this for their dad, but they also have a Godparent who they want to celebrate as well. Their God Mother and father play huge part in their lives. Very close to them. I want to make it something special so is there away for me to customize the printable or can I have you do it? They call their God Father Uncle… is there a way to private message the actual name to you?
    Thanks in advance!!

  3. Here is our finished version. It’s a combo of the two you posted. We used card stock in white for the phrase and glued it to the wood with spray adhesive, then nailed the corners with the furniture tacks.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙂

  6. Hello, Thank you so much for this. This will be my first Shanty 2 chic project. I have one question. Will a home printer print white letters or will I need to take this to a printer? TYIA

    1. A home printer only has black, magenta, cyan, and yellow ink. I would probably take it to a professional printer, OR it will use a lot of black ink to print this as the 8×10 size that it is, and your letters will not have ink on them and they’ll be the paper color. Hope this helps.

  7. is there a way we can change the name ourselves? that way we could personalize it please? thank you!!
