Hey there!  I haven’t shared much on our home build lately because it’s been the not-so-fun stuff but we are starting to lay our brick and stone today!  Wahoooooo!

brick-and-stoneNot a very glamorous picture 😉  The stone we chose is Milsap and the brick is an Acme brick called Ravens Creek.  Of all the decisions I’ve had to make on the house, the mortar color was by far the HARDEST decision ever and I’m still not 100% sure I will like it but there’s no turning back now.  (My palms are sweating just thinking about it)!

Stone-and-Brick-LayoutHere’s the brick/stone layout on the front of the house.  I’m not sure I’ll recognize it with the green covered up 🙂

We have finished with the drywall, so it’s a little easier to see what we have going on inside!

master-bathroomMaster bath!  I’m so excited about our ideas for the shower design!

son-roomThis is a pretty cool part in the house.  One of our boys has this little area off his bedroom.  His room is a tad small (our other son got the largest of the secondary bedrooms) but we opened up the area over the front porch and I think it will make a really cool study!

daughters-roomThis is our daughters room.  It has some crazy angles on the ceiling and I love the character that it already has!  I can’t wait to decorate it!

This brings us to kitchen countertops!  I’ve decided to go with Cambria countertops because of their durability and they are just gorgeous!  They are made of 93% quartz so they are STRONG and there are so many options for edging!   They are also maintenance-free (yay) and scratch resistant!!  (I’m sure my teenage boys will put them to the test but I feel very confident that they have already lost the battle)!

I picked a color from the Waterstone Collection.  You can click HERE to see the color options in that collection and HERE to check out the edging options 🙂 I’ll be back soon, to share my choice!  Which ones are your favorite?

  1. We picked the color New Quay for our countertops in our new home. Quartz countertops in my kitchen was on my short list of non-negotiable things I wouldn’t budge on!

  2. The house looks gorgeous!! It’s really coming together. For our home (currently in progress as well) I went with quartz too! Ours is called Cinderblock and looks a lot like shiny, poured concrete actually. Looking forward to the low maintenance and durability! Can’t wait to which one you picked!
