Hey guys!!

I’m so excited to share my next project with you.  Even more exciting than the project, is the new tool I used to make it!

I was recently given the opportunity to play with the Dremel Saw-Max.  I know so many of you ask about our tools all of the time.  I am so excited to show you this little guy.  It has so many features piled into a small handheld saw… Can’t beat that.   The best part about it… The price tag!  The whole kit can be purchased for just over $100.

I decided to tackle a frame I have been planning!  Here is what I made…

I needed a new frame for my bedroom, and I knew this would be a perfect way to show you my favorite feature of this saw!

I love using the Dremel Saw-Max for plunge cuts!  I wanted a rectangle cut out of my MDF.  Typically this would involve using multiple tools, or just giving up.  Within minutes I had a perfect cut stress free… Woohoo! My kind of tool!

I also love how easy it is to change out your blade!  Just use the included wrench to unscrew it like this…

Drop your blade in…

And screw it back on!

Yup… Pretty darn easy!

Another very cool feature is the ability to quickly change the desired cut width.  I was using 1/2″ MDF, so I just turned the level and set it.

A few other features I love about it…

~Size! It’s handheld, and can easily be stored away!  Don’t be fooled though.  This little saw is extremely powerful at the same time.

~ It’s precise!  I love how I was able to cut a very straight line in no time at all!

~ The Saw-Max cuts just about ANYTHING!  Wood, plastic, laminates and drywall up to 3/4″ and tile!! Love that!

~It also has a ton of fun accessories!

I will share my whole project with you later!

And guess what?!?

Dremel is giving one Shanty reader their very own Saw-Max!!  Woohoo!!  We will be posting that giveaway tomorrow, so make sure to come back and get entered!

In the meantime, be thinking of what you would use the Saw-Max for, and enjoy a few more photos!

  1. Love this! I totally ask you about your tools! I think last I asked about your sander! I have yet to use the circular saw I have here, just the jigsaw I bought but this dremmel looks like it would give me more even cuts. (I am saving up for that new kreg stripper thing!,). So I’d love to win this gem.
