  1. Way to go Tom!! I was wondering as someone who has never built anything…which Kreg jig would be the best suggested to start with. I don’t know if I will even like building so I don’t want to spend $300 but it sounds like the Kreg makes it easier and I am all for that. There are so many plans of yours and Ana’s that I just LOVE and I need to start building and stop dreaming!

    1. I have the cheap basic model and it works fine. It just takes a little more effort to setup than the more expensive sets, but once you get the hang of it is pretty quick and easy. And for building rustic type furniture you dont have to spend much time with it. I think its about $40 at Lowes, and then you will need the clamp pliers, I think are around $15.

If I had to do it again I wish I would have bought the $100 version, but I am so used to the cheap one now i dont really feel like its worth it to upgrade for teh amount of work I actually do with it.

  2. Jealous here, I have the basic cheapy model ($40), and have been drooling over this kit at Lowes for a couple weeks now. It is definitely very nice and would pay itself off with the first piece of furniture you build with it.

    1. Yep it is. I was hoping it would be for a little less than what everyone else is offering it for. This kit would be awesome.
