Happy Sunday!  Welcome to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas!!

Today I am sharing some fun chalkboard ornaments I made for my tree.  When decorating my tree each year, I love mixing rustic pieces with elegant glass ornaments.   I love the look of messy burlap ribbon sitting right behind a beautiful mercury glass ball.  To me, it’s a perfect combination.  I thought it would be fun to add some chalkboard tags to the tree this year, and this is what I came up with!

So fun!

These are crazy easy to make, and you and the kids will have so much fun choosing what words will adorn them!

Ready for a 30 minute project?  Here we go…

My wood was poplar from Lowe’s.  You can also find these craft wood pieces at any craft store really cheap!

For those of you that don’t own a saw, this is a perfect cheap and easy to use hand saw that can be used for this project, and so many others on our site.

You can buy this at HD, and you can also find it on Amazon HERE!

You can find these at Hobby Lobby or you can also find these on Amazon HERE!!

That’s it!  I found a great chalk pen on Amazon for mine.  I LOVE these pins.  They are wet erase, so the kiddos can’t smudge them with their fingers (not that they would ever do that ;-))

My final step was putting some fun words on mine!  I did a different Christmas phrase on each of mine.  I think it would be great to write something that each of the kids are thankful for on them as well.  That’s the great thing about chalkboards…. I can change them tomorrow!

Here are a few more shots of mine…

Hope you love them!
