Hey friends!

I was recently challenged to get my holiday wrapping done by using supplies found at my local Dollar General.  Sounds easy enough… The kicker?  I had to do it for under $10.  Now this is my kind of challenge!  I love wrapping gifts on a tight budget, but I like them to look cute as well!

So… Here is what I came up with!

I also made some brighter ones for the kiddos!

Now… Let me show you what I purchased to get these babies wrapped up!

Blue Ribbon

Green Ribbon

Red Candy Canes

SweeTart Candy Canes

Jute Twine

Red Felt Bows

Brown Kraft Paper

&

Clothespins

I started by wrapping all of my presents in the brown Kraft paper.  I LOVE this stuff! It was $1.50 for the whole roll and covered lots of gifts!  I love how thick it is, and that you can customize it for any gift, holiday or occasion.  Woohoo!  Make sure to use ‘Invisible’ tape on Kraft paper…. It holds much better than the magic tape!  Dollar General carries it as well! Just a tip 😉

Once you have your gift all wrapped up you can add the fun stuff!

I wrapped the Jute Twine and a little bit of yarn around these presents, and then tied on a candy cane to the twine… Easy Peasy!  For the tags, I just printed off some of Ashley’s super cute free printable tags to top them off!

On the brighter ones I layered the ribbon first, then used twine and tulle for the rest!  I topped them off with my free printable tags!

How easy is that??

So… Do you guys have all of yours wrapped yet?  Make sure to head to Dollar General if not!  You will be able to get lots of gifts wrapped for very little dough!

Make sure to check out the Dollar General Gift Center!

You can also follow Dollar General on Facebook for coupons and great promos!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Brown kraft paper is the best! Your packages look fabulous. I had a friend use the kraft paper one year & her teenagers decorated each package with snowflake stamps. Looked great & they had fun participating in the “dreaded Mom event” of wrapping presents. Don’t get me wrong, I really do love gift wrapping however, my family is large!
Love my morning Shanty 2 Chic emails- great website! Thanks 🙂 Merry Christmas!
