Who wants a yummy appetizer/desert to wow your guests with for the 4th of July?  We made these grilled fruit skewers last weekend and my-oh-my are they the bomb!

Grilled_Fruit

Our Reynolds Real Moms challenge for this month was to come up with something for the grilling season!  These babies were so easy to make and eat 😉

IngredientsHere’s what you need:

Fresh Strawberries

Fresh Pineapple

Angel Food Cake (yah we bought the ready-made in the bakery section) 🙂

1 Cup of Dark Chocolate Chips

1/4 Cup of Honey

1/2 of a Lime

1 package of wooden skewers

1 sheet of Reynolds Wrap Foil for the Grill

Here’s how you make ’em:

Thread a strawberry, pineapple and cake on a skewer, repeating two more times per skewer.  Heat the honey and lime juice in the microwave for 30-seconds and brush on each skewer.  Line Reynolds Grilling foil on the grill, dull side facing the food and punch holes all over to allow the juices to drip through.  Cook on low, turning the skewers to evenly brown all of the sides.  Once they are browned, remove them from the grill.  Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for 45-seconds, and drizzle the melted chocolate on the fruit skewers.  Enjoy a few yourself and serve the rest 😉

Clean-up is a breeze with Reynolds Foil for the Grill!  Once the foil and grill have cooled, simply throw the foil in the trash and enjoy not having a sticky mess to clean off of your grill!

Happy Entertaining!

  1. I highly recommend this recipe! I’ve never had grilled fruit before trying this recipe and it was absolutely delicious! The angel food cake next to the pineapple tasted just like pineapple upside down cake (my favorite). It was also the perfect recipe for the kids to help make. Two thumbs up from my family!

  2. Great timing, I just started my shopping list for a small BBQ I’m having today and this looks like the perfect dessert idea!!!! It also appears to be the ideal dish to put my six year old daughter in charge of, I have a sneaking suspicion that this recipe will become another one of my daughter’s “famous secret recipes” 😉 Thanks!!!
