Hey everyone! I’m back with another house update and this one is super fun! Paint color choices! I had fun with this one because it is not permanent! If you follow us on Instagram, you probably saw a little sneak peak of one of the rooms. It’s always tough to pick paint colors and it would have been so helpful if I had room images of all of my paint choices. So, in an effort to help all of you paint shoppers, I am sharing mine 🙂
I went to Lowe’s and picked out Valspar for all of our interior and exterior paints. For the interior, I chose Valspar Signature with the paint and primer in one and it looks great!! (I chose satin so that I could wipe the walls clean – two teenage boys and a toddler can do some major wall damage 😉 ) For the exterior, I went with Valspar Duramax, also a paint and primer in one and chose eggshell for the sheen.
So, all of the rooms in the house minus the bedrooms will be this yummy neutral – Fairmont Penthouse Stone. It’s a perfect “greige” and it is so warm feeling without darkening a room.

Now one of my FAVORITE choices is Seine! I liked it so much that it is in one of our boys rooms…
and our master. The hubs liked it so much that he chose it for his study! Since it is a darker color, I opted to paint the ceilings with Ivory Lace. We also had all of our oil-based trim paint tinted to match Ivory Lace.
We also used it on the exterior to trim our roof line and around our windows. The lighter color in this pic (on the staggered edge siding) is Coastal Villa. It’s a great compliment to Seine.
For our other boys bedroom, we chose Rugged Suede. It ended up looking very similar to Seine once it was on the walls but it has more of a navy, smokey color. A great color for a teenage boy!
For our daughters room, we chose Blue Whisper and I just LOVE it!

Tip: Don’t let your 4 year old choose her paint colors. Mine chose one by Valspar – Mermaid Song. It’s a super bright turquoise. I guess it kinda works in our favor since she doesn’t need a nightlight because the walls are glowing.
LOL! I was begged for a pink room and I just couldn’t do it! So, she is getting “Cinderella Blue” 😉
Love the Fairmont Penthouse Stone!! We are getting ready to do some major paining in our house and I’m going to have to check this one out!! 🙂 Looks exactly like what we’ve been wanting!

GREAT Colors! I’m contemplating a similar blue as your daughters room for my master bedroom right now. Our downstairs colors are similar to yours as well, but a Sherwin Williams line. Looking good!

I love the interior trim! What color is it? Ivory Lace? Did you use oil based paint for the interior trim? If so, why? Thank you!!
Thanks so much. We used oil-based on the trim and doors because it goes on very smooth and it holds up. Valspar does not make oil-based so we had it matched to Ivory Lace so that it would match the ceilings:)

I’ve been searching for the perfect grays for my house for the past year! I want a light “greige” and dark gray for our open living/dining/kitchen areas. Do the Seine and Fairmont Penthouse Stone pair well next to eachother? Thanks so much for sharing!

We painted our study Seine and our living room (next to the study) Fairmont Penthouse Stone and they compliment each other so well. I wouldn’t put them in the same room though. When the study doors are open and I can see a bit of the seine, they look great together! Hope this helps. I’ll share some pics of that area soon!
Well, I finally painted after almost a year of contemplating colors! I couldn’t find the Penthouse Stone color but I did get samples of Seine and Rugged Suede (along with a few other colors). Seine looked too brown next to the other grays so I ended up going with the Rugged Suede color for an accent wall and it’s PERFECT! I paired it with Woodlawn Colonial gray as a base for the rest of my room. Thank you so much for inspiring me to finally get some paint on my walls!
