Hey guys!  I’m back with another house update 🙂  It’s cabinet time!!

kitchen-cabinetsCabinets were very important to me, when we were designing our home, because the kitchen is in the center of everything!  You see it when you walk in our home, you see it from the dining room and the living room.  It really is visible from every point in our home so, I really wanted the cabinets to be perfect.

I sent our plans off to Sharon Flatley, a local kitchen and bath designer.  She is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer and she took my closed-off kitchen plans to a completely different level.  She gave me exactly what I needed for my kitchen, openness!!! It is so functional too!

We had our cabinets built with our FAVORITE, PureBond Plywood, because it is formaldehyde-free, American hardwood plywood (theres no particleboard or imported materials).  It’s made in America with wood used from sustainable forests!  Whitney and I have always built our furniture with PureBond, for these reasons, so I was thrilled to learn that I could build my cabinets with it!

installing-cabinetsSharon hooked us up with a certified cabinet fabricator who used a new cabinet box system called Cabinotch, which provides for efficient, beautiful and rugged construction of the chassis of the cabinets.
