Hey guys! I’m back with another house build update and today, I’m taking you into my kitchen to show you my tile selections 🙂
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tile in my kitchen!!! I picked it all out from one of our new favorite tile stores, The Tile Shop! You can read all about my experience shopping there HERE!
Let’s start with the floor. I knew I wanted to go with a neutral in the kitchen and I died when I saw this travertine! They are large 18×18 pieces and I love the color variations in each one. It is called Bucak Light Walnut and you can see it HERE.
The favorite tile in my house is this honeycomb accent on our backsplash! It’s a mix of a few different tiles. The honeycomb is Mult Hex, there is a small pencil tile around that called Jinshan Bone Sandlewood Somerset and around that, there is a trim (barnes) called Jinshan Bone Sandlewood Barnes. The subway tile on my backsplash is called Essex and I picked this one because I LOVE the beveled edges on each tile!!!
We also added the Essex to the splash on our island!
I love the neutral color of the tile and the hex tiles add character to the kitchen but it is a timeless look that will still look great years from now! If you have The Tile Shop in your area you need to go check them out! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable so you won’t be overwhelmed when you walk in the door!
Did you see the tile that I chose for our boys bathroom? You can see that HERE!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Ashley

If you have missed any house updates, you can check them all out HERE!
I love the color of the walls! What color is it?
Have you put hardware on your cabinets since? I have the same dark and I cannot for the life of me decide what to do!
LOVE your backsplash!
Did you make the round table in your breakfast nook? I have been eyeing the chairs in stores and was picturing a round wood table would be perfect with them, and that’s what you have! Looks great.
Thank you Lindsay! I did build it 🙂 here is the link! https://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2014/02/diy-round-wooden-table-for-110.html
