Finishing Details:
I used Douglas Fir and applied a couple of coats of a stain I made from soaking 2 steel wool pads in equal parts of vinegar and water (2 cups of each). I let the mix sit for a couple of days before I used it. I topped it off with 2 coats of Natural Watco Oil. The table is darker than what I anticipated, but I think the darker color works well with such a beefy table.
This was my first big project and I think that it was super easy to do. The plans were great!
