Hey hey friends!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We thought the best way to show our thankfulness for you would be to give you something free 🙂  In all seriousness, we are super thankful for you guys.  We are thankful for your support, kind words, photos of your projects, shares and so much more.  You have turned our little hobby into a business that feeds our families and we will forever be so grateful for that.  You have helped open the door to so many opportunities for us, including our pilot episode of Open Concept that aired on HGTV.  We have some REALLY exciting news to share with you!  You will be seeing more episodes of Open Concept on HGTV!  We are thrilled to tell you that the network has decided to move forward, and we will start filming new episodes in January…. Can we get a woohooooo?  We are so excited for this new chapter of our business and can’t wait to share along the way.  Make sure to get the Periscope App on your phone and follow us for behind the scene videos of us filming and building furniture!  You can find us on that app under our name Shanty2Chic!  Also… If you are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and want to be considered for an Open Concept renovation, email casting for the show at [email protected]!

Now for the free stuff!  I decided to create some fun wall art for my dining room.  I am sharing this as a Thanksgiving goodie, but I think it’s and evergreen message that I can’t remind myself or my kids of enough.  Check out my new Thankful Free Printable!  I made this one in several different sizes for y’all!

Love this message… All year long!  And especially this week!

The first is a 12×12 print that I put in a share frame I found at Hobby Lobby.  The second is an 11×14 print that I framed by whipping this frame up really quick!  It’s super simple.  I had a scrap piece of 1/4″ hardwood plywood that I sprayed with chalkboard paint and then sanded down a bunch.

Then, I used some old scrap barn wood I found at Hobby Lobby and attached two longer boards at the top and bottom.  I used my stapler with 3/4″ staples for this part.

Building the frame

Last, I stapled twine to the back and glued a clip to the front to hold the printable.

Here it is all finished!

  1. How do you print off the 12×12 and 11×14 prints? Is there a home printer that can print those sizes or do you have to take them somewhere? Thanks for sharing!

    1. Most printers are limited to 11″ wide paper. But you can use the legal paper setting on your printer which will allow you to print 11 x 14
