I noticed the Stain (Varathane) is based oil and the Polyurethane is water based, is that ok to use it do they both have to be oil based and both have to be water based???
I have used it over an oil-based stain and it worked out perfect. Top of the can specifies it can be used over ANY stain

Do you let the stain dry for an hour and then use Polyurethane? Or do you put the Polyurethane on the stain after you wipe it with a rag?
