3 Simple Projects with the Cricut Maker

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! We were so excited to get our hands on the new Cricut Maker! We have heard so many cool things about it, so when they asked us to try it out, we immediately said YES! Here is the frame all finished up!

For this project, we took a simple barn wood frame. You can find them at your local craft store. We cut a piece of 1/4″ plywood to the opening of the frame, as well as a piece of faux tin. You can find the faux tin panel HERE. We cut that to the same size and got glued it to the plywood panel. We then glued that to the inside of the frame. We used our Cricut Maker to cut the bass wood. We hot glued that to the tin, added some ribbon and wood beads and we were done. Some of our favorite things we loved about this machine…

~It’s ability to cut so many different materials. Not only does it cut wood, it also cuts tissue paper and fabric… That’s crazy!

~ It’s SO EASY to use! We avoid products because of the learning curve, but this one was so simple. You plug it in, download the program on your computer, and make a cut. It truly is that simple.

~ We love that all of this capability is in one machine. It does everything that you would typically need multiple machines to do. One stop shopping.

We used the Maker to cut heat transfer vinyl and ironed it onto some cute pillows!

We glued some of our scrap faux tin on a scrap of wood, and then used the Maker to cut the word JOY out of chipboard. We hot glued that to the faux tin to create the cutest ornament!
