Hey friends! One of our favorite projects we did for our little sister’s home was her dining room wall treatment! Y’all know we can’t do a house renovation without at least one shanty plank wood wall treatment. Her dining room had the perfect spot for one. She has an inset in the wall giving us a perfect spot to work with. Come check out what we did by watching the video below!

This is such a simple wall. We started on one side and made sure to make random cuts to keep our seams from lining up. These are 1/2″ boards and we are attaching them to the wall using 2″ brad nails. We did not use glue on these boards because they are very lightweight and it makes changing the wall easier in the future.

Cutting around the outlets is really simple! Be sure to watch the video… Ashley walks you through the steps we took!

Once we attached the plank wood, we capped the top off with an 1×8 pine board. This gives the wall a really finished look! This is a heavier board, so we attached it using construction adhesive and nails through the studs. You can also use screws and cover the holes if you prefer!

We love how it turned out! It adds so much texture and character to the room.

Be sure to check out some of the other projects we completed at her house below!
