How to Build a Clip Frame
Step 1 – Attach the Planks
Cut the barn wood planks to size. Flip them upside down and measure and cut the back support pieces to size.
Run a line of wood glue down each back support.
Attach the back supports to the back of the barn wood planks with 5/8″ brad nails.
Step 2 – Attaching the Trim
Flip the frame right-side-up and measure and cut the top and bottom frame pieces to size. Attach them to the ends of the frame with 1 1/4″ brad nails and wood glue. The bottom of the trim pieces should be flush with the back support pieces.
Cut the side trim pieces to size and attach them to the sides of the frame with 1 1/4″ brad nails and wood glue.
Step 3 – Attaching the Clip
Center a bulldog clip 2″ from the top of the frame and attach it with hot glue. I used barn wood so I didn’t need to add a finish!
