Original Shanty2Chic project it was inspired by:
https://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2015/02/diy-king-size-bed-free-plans.html
Project (URL):
Time to Complete: 2 weekends
Total Cost: $330 in lumber
Finishing Details:
I used Varathane in Ash for the stain.
This was a surprisingly easy build but it was extremely heavy. I usually don’t need help on my projects but this one I had to have help from my husband to move the headboards and footboards around.
One tip I would suggest to cut as you go but follow the the way the boards were cut so you don’t run out of wood. Also sand the 1x6s before you attach them to 2×6’s. It will make finishing it easier because once you attach the 2×6 to the front and the top you can only hand sand the 4in gap.
There are a lot of pocket holes so put on some good music and drill away!!
