Holy cow this is a fantastic vacuum! AND it comes with 3 yearly tune ups?! Â I would love to have this vacuum instead of my inlaws ancient hand-me-down that reeks of wet dog every time I vacuum. Â I bet the Magnesium’s HEPA filter would never have that problem.

I was so pumped when I was recently asked to try out the Oreck Magnesium and the Oreck Ultimate Handheld Vac. Â My vacuum cleaner is one of my most used ‘power tools’!
This is the Oreck Magnesium Vacuum Cleaner! Â There are SO many things I love about this “little” guy!
First off… It weighs in at a whopping 7.7 lbs. Â Seriously. Â It is amazing how easy it is to push the Magnesium through the entire house. Â It’s so light that the baby even took her turn at it (and threw a huge fit when I took it away)!
Another feature of this vacuum cleaner that I love is the ability to move onto different types of flooring without doing a thing! Â I have carpet, stained concrete and tile flooring. Â The Magnesium easily cleans them all without having to make a single adjustment!
I also love that it has 2 different speed options. Â By pushing the little power button on the back, you can easily switch to the slower speed and clean your rugs without the vacuum eating them. Â LOVE.
The Magnesium has a long cord which I found super helpful! Â I am constantly having to move sockets with my other vacuum, so that was a fun little perk. Â I also love this little swiveling hook thing (pretty sure that’s the technical term) that holds the cord by the handle. Â So smart! Â I have to hold the cord on my other vacuum.
I also love the design of the handle. Â It was easy to hold and it’s longer than I’m used to!
Let’s talk about the bag! Â First… I will never go bagless. Â I don’t want to have to look at what I just sucked off the floor! Â Look how easy it is to change the bag on the Oreck Magnesium! Â Just unzip that baby and pull it out!
And finally my favorite feature… This vacuum left nothing on the floor! Â It’s amazing to me that it can pack this much power in under 8 lbs! Â I am literally in LOVE.
And then there is the Ultimate Handheld Vac… Holy wow.
This little guy is a mommy’s best friend!
First… Everything you see comes in one box… Woohoo! Love all the attachments!
The cord easily wraps around the bottom and it all stores away like this.
I am so used to lugging my other heavy vacuum cleaner around the house as I do my my baseboards and stairs. Â You can actually carry this vacuum around like a purse or diaper bag and get it done! Â My kids say it looks like a jet pack, and I would say it’s just about as cool ;-)!
The tube easily extends and locks into place wherever you want it to. Â Seriously? Â Love it.
This vacuum also uses a bag… Woohoo! Â It’s so easy to change too!

I love the super long cord and the fact that you can detach a smaller vaccuum from the larger one. That makes vaccuumming smaller spaces so much easier!

I learned that a great vacuum will set you back about $500! Just kidding. I learned that Oreck is capable of reinventing themselves, for sure. The magnesium is supposed to be stronger than many types of steel, the back wheels are bigger for maneuverability, and it comes with a SEVEN year warranty! Wow! I love that is is great for all types of flooring (we’re just putting in hardwoods in our home), and the new “easy snap chord clip.” Pretty nifty all around!
I “liked” oreck on fb…my parents actually have an oreck and love it, but I’ve never made the plunge…could never afford to 🙂

PS I learned that it is so light and versatile. I had a bagless vacuum cleaner, but it gave out on me in a matter of months, and the filter was disgusting to clean. This one looks so easy to use, and you can use it just about anywhere!
