What’s up guys?! I’m still in the process (probably will be forever) of revamping the kids’ playroom upstairs.  My latest addition to is a play table and chairs.  I found the plans on Ana’s site and spent an afternoon getting them done.

I used furring strips from Lowe’s for the entire project except the table top itself.

This was my shopping list for all 5 pieces…

1 – 2×2 furring strip

9 – 1×3 furring strips

4 – 1×2 furring strips

1 – 1×8 whitewood board

My total cost for wood was UNDER $30! Woohoo!!!

One thing I LOVE about this table is the size.  My oldest is 8 and it is large enough for her to sit at as well as toddlers.  The chairs are stackable as well which makes a great feature if you are short on space!

Want to see them all finished??

I used Rust-Oleum Colonial Red spray paint on the chairs and bottom of the table.  I used Minwax dark walnut stain on the top of the table.  I love the combo!

I still have lots to do up here but I do feel like I have made some serious progress… And the kids love it too!  It only took me 45 minutes or so to clean it up just now to take pics for you guys 😉

Here are some of the other projects I have done lately for the playroom…

  1. For anyone looking for the plans on Ana’s site they are the four dollar stacking kids chairs and Clara’s table ????

  2. I know this post is a few years old, but so you have the plans for the chairs? I visited Ana’s site and did not see them either? Thanks!

  3. I realize this post is from quite a few years ago, but I’ve been thinking of making two of these for my preschool. Can 4 kids sit around one table comfortably to do art projects? Thanks!

  4. Did you make your table and chairs any larger than Ana’s plans say? I like the size of yours but Ana’s looks a little smaller.

  5. With the white wood board, did you even need the Kreg Jig, or was that still helpful to your project? I am so drawn to this table! I adore it and may have to copy you exactly.

  6. I’m done… you amaze me. From this table to your kitchen table?! I just felt for the first time that I could actually start looking for a home because I could afford to furnish it with all your tutorials (and my husband is amazing at building so it would be a cinch for him!) It’s fun too because he built me an 8 foot bench with 4 cubbies and a hinge top for more storage and stained it with the dark walnut!! Now on to scouring your site for more fun ideas!!

  7. you are really quite the handy woman! I love this table and the new one you just built for you growing family 🙂 I love your use of the Rustoleum Colonial Red Spray paint…I see you also did the frames in the same color?

  9. After visiting Ana White’s website, a couple of different kid’s table popped up. What exact tutorial did you use for this table and chairs? I don’t have fancy tools, but I read above that all you need is a cheap hand saw and a drill. Is that right? So cute! Love it-great job!

  10. This is adorable! I love all that you’ve built. That whole room is fabulous! I’m in the middle of building the play kitchen right now and I want to build this table and chairs as well but I don’t have a kreg jig and don’t want to buy one either. Did you use one? Can I build it without it?
