Hey guys!  Whitney here.

I know many of you stay updated on our Facebook page, but I wanted to give a quick update on everything going here on the blog too.

I am 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant today.  I was put in the hospital last week with low amniotic fluid.  The doctors were able to get me to a safe number using iv fluids, and I was sent home.  On Friday I was put back in the hospital with low numbers again.  As of now, it looks like I will be here on bed rest until I deliver.  The doctors are watching him closely, and taking it day by day.  Everyday I am able to maintain my fluid without the iv is another day we can push back early delivery.

I’ve been fighting the urge to paint the walls in my hospital room, recover the sleeper sofa, and revamp the tv armoire 🙂 Luckily my fam has been visiting me a lot!  Besides Pinterest I am finding ways to stay entertained…

I really appreciate the prayers and messages we have received on Facebook.  I’m so blessed to have a wonderful family who has literally dropped their schedule to help us during this time.

We have asked a few of our blog friends to share projects with you guys over the next few weeks while I’m here.  Ash has some fun stuff to share as well.

Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop!  Thanks so much again and I will keep you posted!

  1. Love the blackmail photo of your girl…wait until she knows what those are for!!! hang in there…I had a month of hospital bed rest last year. Once the routine was there it was fine. Hopefully your hospital is awesome and has a craft room like mine did..complete with cricut, scrapbooking supplies, things to paint and a wii. You should see if you make improvements if they’ll take it off your tab. Just a thought! 🙂 Keep baking!!

  2. Hi, Whitney! I am a long time follower of S2C, but I’m not sure I’ve ever left a comment. I can relate to your situation as well, right now. I am 33w5d today with twin girls and I’ve been in the hospital since August 4th due to preterm labor, amid a few other things. They have kept me here this long mainly because I live so far out in the boonies (2.5 hrs away) that if my labor were to start again, I may not make it here in time to get it stopped and the unthinkable could happen. It’s been a challenge as I have an 11 yr old son and a 3 yr old daughter at home. Prior to this, I’d never been away from my 3 yr old overnight. I won’t write all of the details of the story, but it’s almost like being stuck in the movie “Groundhog Day” mixed with the show “Cheers” (because everybody knows your name), just add in bad hospital food, lol.. Just take it one day at a time, instead of getting caught up in the larger numbers. (and Thank God for wi-fi and laptops!) Hang in there 🙂

  3. Hey, it sounds like the docs have everything under control-it’s amazing what they can do now! Our prayers and thoughts are with you! It’s so great to have family that can help out-it means the world! Just think of all the projects that you can pin! Wish you the best!

  4. Good luck and hang in there. It is amazing how the Dr.s know just what to do. It is so hard to be away from family I hope you’re close to home, my hospital was 1.5 hours away. I was on bed rest from 8 weeks on, in and out of the hospital, received steroids and many other shots throughout the pregnancy, and had my son at 32 weeks because of low amniotic fluid. He was in NICU for 2 weeks and came home weighing 3 lb 13 oz. Today my son is a perfectly healthy happy boy. My prayers are with you.

    1. Thanks Angel! So good to hear you had a great outcome… That sounds scary! I am pretty close to home which is definitely a blessing!

  5. Sounds like the pits. For what it is worth, my fist daughter was born at 33 weeks and 3 days, because my fluid was leaking and I got infected. She was just fine. She did stay in the NICU for a bit, but only to learn to eat. She could breathe on her own, and she was a whopping 5 lbs 2 oz. I hope you can keep your little guy in a little longer though

    1. Thanks so much Heidi! That is very reassuring! I love hearing stories of ladies that have walked in similar situations. Glad your daughter did so well!!!

  6. Wow! I’m keeping you and your little one in my thoughts and prayers. I’m 34 weeks along myself and worry so much about every thing that could go wrong. It’s so easy for people to tell you to stay calm, or try, or that, but until you’ve walked in their shoes….

    Best of luck.

    1. Totally agree Virginia! As much as I am going a bit crazy sitting here, I feel so much better knowing they are keeping a close eye on him 🙂

  7. Good luck hanging in there! I am due a week before you and can’t imagine having to spend the rest of the time in the hospital. At least it seems like it is doing its job, right? Good luck and try to stay sane and busy! Can’t wait to hear when that little boy makes his debut.

  8. My prayers are with you and your family. My daughter was born at exactly 33 weeks and 5 days and reading this brought back memories. She ended up being perfectly fine but didn’t know how to eat by herself so we spent some time in the NICU so she could use a feeding tube while she learned how to eat on her own. Other than that she was one healthy girl! I pray you get to avoid all that and he’s able to hang in there for a few more weeks. I’m glad it sounds like you have a wonderful family to support and hopefully entertain you. I’m so glad you at least have pinterest to entertain you! I also found watching hgtv online was a great distraction! 🙂 I love your blog by the way. I just made a pumpkin arrangement using your white pumpkin and pine cone centerpiece as inspiration. I love the way it turned out! Thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us!

    1. That’s so great to hear Kelli! I am getting lots of laptop time and I will have to go check out the HGTV site 😉 Thank you!!!
