Holy cow this is a fantastic vacuum! AND it comes with 3 yearly tune ups?!  I would love to have this vacuum instead of my inlaws ancient hand-me-down that reeks of wet dog every time I vacuum.  I bet the Magnesium’s HEPA filter would never have that problem.

I was so pumped when I was recently asked to try out the Oreck Magnesium and the Oreck Ultimate Handheld Vac.  My vacuum cleaner is one of my most used ‘power tools’!

This is the Oreck Magnesium Vacuum Cleaner!  There are SO many things I love about this “little” guy!

First off… It weighs in at a whopping 7.7 lbs.  Seriously.  It is amazing how easy it is to push the Magnesium through the entire house.  It’s so light that the baby even took her turn at it (and threw a huge fit when I took it away)!

Another feature of this vacuum cleaner that I love is the ability to move onto different types of flooring without doing a thing!  I have carpet, stained concrete and tile flooring.  The Magnesium easily cleans them all without having to make a single adjustment!

I also love that it has 2 different speed options.  By pushing the little power button on the back, you can easily switch to the slower speed and clean your rugs without the vacuum eating them.  LOVE.

The Magnesium has a long cord which I found super helpful!  I am constantly having to move sockets with my other vacuum, so that was a fun little perk.  I also love this little swiveling hook thing (pretty sure that’s the technical term) that holds the cord by the handle.  So smart!  I have to hold the cord on my other vacuum.

I also love the design of the handle.  It was easy to hold and it’s longer than I’m used to!

Let’s talk about the bag!  First… I will never go bagless.  I don’t want to have to look at what I just sucked off the floor!  Look how easy it is to change the bag on the Oreck Magnesium!  Just unzip that baby and pull it out!

And finally my favorite feature… This vacuum left nothing on the floor!  It’s amazing to me that it can pack this much power in under 8 lbs!  I am literally in LOVE.

And then there is the Ultimate Handheld Vac… Holy wow.

This little guy is a mommy’s best friend!

First… Everything you see comes in one box… Woohoo! Love all the attachments!

The cord easily wraps around the bottom and it all stores away like this.

I am so used to lugging my other heavy vacuum cleaner around the house as I do my my baseboards and stairs.  You can actually carry this vacuum around like a purse or diaper bag and get it done!  My kids say it looks like a jet pack, and I would say it’s just about as cool ;-) !

The tube easily extends and locks into place wherever you want it to.  Seriously?  Love it.

This vacuum also uses a bag… Woohoo!  It’s so easy to change too!

    Well, this is so perfect! :D My vacuum just blew up yesterday, and I was wondering how and if I could get a new one! I will cross my fingers. I did find out that the Magnesium has large high-performance rear wheels with cylindrical wheel bearings that give it maneuverability. Perfect for me with our cape full of kids and stuff!     I am a Dyson man, and have been for several years, but with us having carpet and hardwoods, would like the flexibility of moving from one to the other easily.
    According to the Oreck website, you can lay it practically flat, which would be nice to get under the couches!

    I’ve had a Dyson for years and a friend came over and vacuumed for me with her Oreck and there was no comparison!! We were moving out of our home and after she was finished, the carpets looked brand new. I love Oreck’s website and I dream of the day I have one of my own. I have never seen a vacuum that worked so well! It lays flat, it weighs next to nothing, and it sucks like no other vacuum on the market.

      PS I learned that it is so light and versatile. I had a bagless vacuum cleaner, but it gave out on me in a matter of months, and the filter was disgusting to clean. This one looks so easy to use, and you can use it just about anywhere!

    I learned that a great vacuum will set you back about $500! Just kidding. I learned that Oreck is capable of reinventing themselves, for sure. The magnesium is supposed to be stronger than many types of steel, the back wheels are bigger for maneuverability, and it comes with a SEVEN year warranty! Wow! I love that is is great for all types of flooring (we’re just putting in hardwoods in our home), and the new “easy snap chord clip.” Pretty nifty all around!

    I have spent big bucks on vacuums before. I am the owner of a very expensive vacuum system. Someone should have told me just what a pain it is to get out, lug around and clean out each time! I would love this small and convenient vacuum! I have hard wood, tile and carpet all on the main floor of my house. The easy switch over is only something I dream of with my current vacuum. Please make my house fun to clean again!!!!

I love this because I have high furniture but my vacuum is so old that it ibig and bulky and will only go about 4 inches under so I have to move my whole assortment of furniture to clean the bunnies up. And it switches from carpet to hardwood with the flip of a switch and that’s great because I have a lot of hardwood and hate having to switch tools to clean it and the carpets.

    This would certainly make a chore that I hate more enjoyable. I have 2 small kids and a dog, so the vacuum is out all the time. I have an old heavy vacuum that I have to lug around ( and my kids think it’s fun to sit on it while I vacuum, which only makes it heavier!) and I often struggle to wind the cord up because the automatic wind-up feature only works when it wants to work. I would LOVE to win this vacuum!

    I love that the Magnesium can clean on high-pile carpet! We have shag carpet and it’s so difficult to vacuum our current carpets that I work up a sweat just vacuuming up one room. This combined with the fact that it’s under 8 pounds means my kids can finally help me vacuum the house! Woohoo! I also love the handheld vacuum.     The Oreck has a magnesium frame (probably how it got it’s name, huh?), making it lightweight and incredibly strong and durable. That’s pretty cool. Almost as cool as the design of the handle. I had an Oreck way back when, but I gave it to my husband’s grandmother when it became difficult for her to use her heavy, bulky upright. I’ve been bagless since (my husband thought it would be easier and cheaper than bags.) After years of lugging the vacuum outside to empty the canister, even he is saying he wished we had bags again. We move into our new place weekend after next. I would love to take a new Magnesium with me! Please and thank you! :-)

    Wow, I love this machine. Imagine loving a vacuum but I think this one is special. I am handicapped and find it very difficult to maneuver my Kenmore canister around. I love both the weight of this and the ease with which if fits under furniture. Also storage will be a breeze compared to my current vacuum.

    Holy cow this is a fantastic vacuum! AND it comes with 3 yearly tune ups?! I would love to have this vacuum instead of my inlaws ancient hand-me-down that reeks of wet dog everytime I vacuum. I bet the Magesium’s HEPA filter would never have that problem.

    I so need a good vaccum. I am still using one my Mom found in a thrift store. It is held together with duct tape because they no longer make replacement parts. Why would I continue to use this dinosaur? Because I haven’t found one that does a good job on hardwood and carpet. But I learned from the website that the Magnesium has two speeds that will allow to clean not only my hardwood, but my throw rugs as well. Please, please pick me so I can put my current vaccum out of its misery!

    I love that the vacuum will lie flat to go under furniture. My vacuum always hits the couch or table when trying to vacuum underneath of it. Then it’s a hassle to move the couch and vacuum under it. That is a brilliant idea for a vacuum. So much easier than trying to use the hose to do the whole thing.

    I LOVE that the Magnesium has rear wheels that allow you to move it easily with higher pile carpets and rugs! The fact that the cord is now secured in a swivel clamp so that you aren’t constantly running over it as you clean is a great improvement over my old Oreck which I CONTINUE to use after 15 years!! Love the blue color and modern look, too, even if I do store it in the closet…makes you happier to open the door and see a sleek vacumn!

    What an amazing vacuum or should I say, “powerful tool!” I have hard wood, tile and carpet floors in my home and our dog and children (along with us!) are very hard on them all. We live on 6 acres with cattle and constantly walk in and out with (yes, I am admitting to this) our shoes on.     I’ve been dreaming of owning an Oreck for the past 10 years. I want one SO badly. Winning two would be awesome. Our 5 month old Granddaughter will be moving into our home this weekend so getting all the cat fur and anything/everything off our floors/carpets will be a top priority given the fact she’s going to be moving around very soon.
    I love the fact this Oreck can lay practically flat to get underneath our furniture. That’s something I look for because moving furniture now isn’t something I can do easily anymore. The weight of this vaccuum is a dream. I can no longer drag my vaccuum around the house easily after having five hand surgeries in the past two years. I’ve lost alot of strength in both my hands. With this vaccuum only being 7 lbs, I’d be able to do it myself again without major pain.

    I love Oreck vacuum cleaners. They are lightweight and that makes it so easy to vacuum stairs and to vacuum any surface. They are absolutely the best vacuum made. Love the simple design and they are so easy to care for. I need the handheld desperately. It would complement my own Oreck perfectly!

    I only have a vacuum that when you are done you have to go and pick everything that the sweeper didn’t get. This Oreck Magnesium would be great. I have two sliding doors and a regular sweeper doesn’t get everything. The hand held vacuum would be great for that.

    I would love to win this vacuum! My favorite feature of it is the two-speed Quickswitch, which enables you to use it on a variety of floor types. Having mostly bamboo floors, we need to vacuum daily to remove hair and little things that may scratch the floor. It is really convenient to have a vacuum that would work on my rugs as well. Right now we have two vacuums for these purposes. An Oreck would be awesome to save space and time!
