BHG Guest Ready Giveaway and a Before and After!

What better way to start the week off than with an awesome giveaway and a before and after!!  I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to make my bedroom “guest ready” with some great items from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Wal-Mart!  I chose my master bedroom because it has been so neglected since we moved in our home.  It was “that room” that I preferred not to show anyone because it just wasn’t “guest ready”.  Well, I got the motivation with this great BHG challenge and I LOVE the items I found!  I also chose to spruce up my master bath a bit because I am in the process of revamping it as well!

Here is the before of my master bedroom:

After I did a little BHG sprucing:

I added the two square, ruffled pillows and the two super cute drum shades and moved on to the bathroom:)

Before:

After a few BHG picks;)

The additions to the bathroom are the two iron sconces, the metal plate (2 per package) and…

these super cute candlesticks!  Two rooms, guest ready for under $100!

Now here is the great part!  One lucky winner will have the chance to make their home guest ready with a $100 Wal-Mart gift card from Better Homes and Gardens!  To enter, just leave us a comment sharing the room in your home you would like to make guest ready and why!  We will announce the winner a week from today!

Here are a few more pics of my master bedroom and bath!  Good luck to all of you!  Don’t forget to stop by and “like”  the BHG Facebook fan page!

A huge thank you to BHG for helping me to make my master bedroom and bath guest ready!  Now it’s your turn;)

Good luck!

  1. Wow, great makeover to make your spaces “guest ready”! Although they looked pretty good to me in the before pics too! Hmmmm which room to pick for my guest ready makeover with that Walmart gift card! How exciting!!! My house burned down 6 years ago and even though we rebuilt — things aren’t just pefect yet….are they ever? Think I would pick my guest bathroom which is large and just needs some extra punches to make it spiffy…..since the fire and rebuilt, most of my home was furnished with yard sale finds and trash picking finds…..which all are so neat because they were so loved before their demise…..but boy would it be fun to actually get to shop too! Thanks for your generosity and Walmart’s generosity! Jean from South Jersey

  6. Sadly, it is our living room that needs some work. It is a huge room with vaulted ceilings, and it doesn’t have much in the way of decoration in it. We recently bought new furniture, so that is giving me the itch to try and spruce up the rest of the room.

  7. Our master bedroom could use an update. Somehow this is always the last room to get my attention. Your room looks so fresh…love the new lamps.

  8. WOW! What a beautiful bedroom like you I just move into a new home and yet the master bedroom is one that I wish nobody goes in there. Thank s for all this great tips specially for items I can find at the local wal-mart. Thank you!

  9. My Living Room also needs some sprucing up. Brown leather furniture kinda overwelms it and my lamps are still brass ones.

  12. To get our home guest ready, I’d like to have Better Homes and Gardens Ashwood Road Chest for the bedroom.

  13. L-O-V-E the bedroom furniture color. Much better, great job! I would love to re-vamp the “spare” bedroom, that I guess my youngest son will never move back home to 🙁 He has been moved out for a couple of years now, but I have been unemployed for 3 years now & just haven’t had the extra funds to spruce it up (I have actually kept it pretty much the same with the exception of a good cleaning). So the door stays closed. I painted the walls but that’s about it. Thanks & love this blog. Carol kaatails@yahoo.com
