Hey guys! I decided to take a break from building and get back to my bathroom redecorating. I haven’t done a thing since I painted the walls and added a DIY bathroom frame. I have been waiting for an idea to come to me for a hand towel hook so when it came…I had to run with it!
This was so easy and it only took Gorilla Glue wood glue to put it together…no nails or screws! You can make it in about an hour from start to finish and it is under $5! That’s my kind of craft:)
I started with a 1×4 (purchase the shortest length you can ~ you will only need about 2 ft). I cut a piece at 13.5″, 2 @ 3″ and 1 @ 2 3/4″.
I only used Gorilla Glue wood glue to put this entire piece together!
Start by placing a thin line of Gorilla Glue wood glue across the middle of the longest board.
Next, place one of the 3″ blocks on the glue (this will make the ledge for the mason jar).
Now, attach the remaining 3″ and 2 3/4″ blocks together with the 2 3/4″ block on the bottom.
After everything has dried for about 10 minutes, apply a thin line of Gorilla Glue wood glue to the bottom edge of the longest board and attach the ledge you made in the last step with the 3″ block attached to the longest board.
3″ board attached to the longest board with 2 3/4″ board placed on top to form a ledge. Wait for about 30 minutes while this dries.
To finish, I wiped 1 coat of Rust-Oleum Dark Walnut stain over the entire piece.
For the final touches,
I applied Gorilla Glue Epoxy to the bottom of a mason jar (I used enough to puddle at the bottom) and attached it to the top ledge.
I then added this, simple but cute, robe hook that I purchased at Lowe’s for about $3.
A stem of flowers for a color pop,
a rolled up towel (in reserve) behind the ledge, a hand towel on the hook….
and I have a fresh new look for my bathroom! On to more guest bath decorating! I’ll be back to share more soon!

I’m obsessed with mine! I built my own using the plans at www. WoodworkPlans.info – highly recommended you check those out too. They are detailed and super easy to read and understand unlike several others I found online. The amount of plans there is mind-boggling… there’s like 16,000 plans or something like that for tons of different projects. Definitely enough to keep me busy with projects for many more years to come haha

You are amazing and inspiring. There are so many awesome projects you have done. I want to wake my husband up and get started right now :). I have a dining room set that I bought off of Craigslist several years ago that I just stare at and want to change so badly, but I haven’t had the courage till now.
