The actual building part was extremely easy, it was the sanding and finishing that took a lot of time… But it came together and my wife and i are extremely happy with it. We used Bombay Mahogany PolyShades and it was just OK. I dont think i will use PolyShades again b/c it was a lot more difficult to get the smooth finish i wanted… But in the end it worked out and we are happy with it.
My wife made the centerpiece by just chalk painting the mason jars and distressing them with a little sandpaper. The total cost for that was about $30…
The total cost for the table and bench was about $125 but we purchased the 4 chairs from Wayfair and they were about $300. So in total it was $425 and we probably would have paid north of $900 for the same table at a furniture store.
