Hey there! I just have to cut to the chase and show you the outdoor chandelier that I made this week…I’m too excited to wait!
I get giddy just looking at the picture! This cutie was soooooo easy to make and it only cost me about $10! Its the kind of project you can do with your friends on a craft night or you can have your kids help you because it’s that quick and easy!
Here’s how!
Let’s start with the Mason Jar Lanterns 🙂
I purchased a box of 12 mason jars at Wal-Mart for about $8. We only need 4 for this project but it’s nice to have extra 🙂 I also purchased 16-gauge wire and small black chain from Lowe’s.
Start by cutting a chain with 13 links. To cut it just bend the link, with pliers, until you can pull it off.
Now, cut about a 12″ piece of wire and thread each end of the chain on the wire.
Wrap the wire around the neck of the mason jar
and twist the wire until the wire tightens snuggly around the mason jar.
Then, clip the wire with your pliers.
YAYYY!!! I built my own using the plans at www. WoodworkPlans.info – highly recommended you check those out too. They are detailed and super easy to read and understand unlike several others I found online. The amount of plans there is mind-boggling… there’s like 16,000 plans or something like that for tons of different projects. Definitely enough to keep me busy with projects for many more years to come haha
