DIY Wine Bottle Holder

Hey there! We are already at day 9 in our 12 Days of Christmas Series and I have a really fun and easy DIY Christmas Gift to share with you today!12DaysCOUNTER9

We love a good wine bottle holder and we have created a few hanging versions in the past! I thought this Table Top Wine Holder was in order 😉
DIY-Wooden-Wine-Bottle-HolderI created this one with scraps but if you don’t have scraps, it will still be super inexpensive to make your own!

Here’s how I did it!

wine-holder-center-boardI started with a 1×12 that I cut at 11 1/4″ and marked a diagonal line from one corner to another.

cut-with-jigsawThen, I used my 18V Jigsaw to cut along the line creating two triangle pieces.

wine-holder-piecesHere are the three pieces you need for the holder.

drill-pocket-holes-in-middleNow, drill three 1 1/4″ pocket holes on one of the 90° sides and then on the diagonal side.

ryobi-forstner-setNext, I used a 1 3/8″ Forstner Bit

drill-holes-for-wine-bottlesand drilled three holes in the mitered 1×4 board. I started on the end with the miter cut and drilled a hole at 4 1/2″, 10 1/2″ and 16 1/2″.

Rustoleum_Dark_Walnut-500x750Before I assembled it, I applied one coat of Rust-Oleum Dark Walnut stain on all of the pieces. I just wiped it on with a clean cloth, waited 5 minutes then blended the stain with a new clean cloth.

attach-baseNow to assembled! I attached the triangle piece to the other 1×4 (the one without the holes) with 1 1/4″ pocket hole screws. I placed it 3.5″ from the end.

back-of-wine-holderNext, I attached the remaining 1×4, the same way.

bottle-holder-flushThe back of the triangle piece should be flush with one side of the 1×4’s.

distress-edges-of-bottle-holderFinally, I roughed it up a bit with my Corner Cat Sander with an 80-grit pad!

DIY-Table-Top-Wine-HolderThat’s it! Just add your favorite bottles of wine and it makes a great table topper 🙂
