Garage Organization & GIVEAWAY!!

Now, who doesn’t love a little garage organization??  I have been working on getting my shop revamped for the last few months.  I am slowly tackling every nook and cranny to make the most out of the space and use every inch 🙂  One of my latest projects to tackle was upgrading from the pegboard system I have been using as tool storage, to the Rubbermaid FastTrack system!  Can we talk about how much I LOVE this system??  Check out how I set it up!

Rubbermaid Garage Organization

This is my wall of tools that don’t get used as often… Minus the radio!  I love how I can hang my radio and it’s perfectly in reach all the time!

Garage Storage Idea

And the hanging baskets are perfect for holding my bagged tools and shop towels.  I also keep my Clorox wipes in there for when I spill stain and paint… Which happens fairly often 😉

Garage Wall Storage

This system has been a lifesaver.  No more stinkin’ silver pegboard hooks falling on the ground!  Game changer.  It was crazy easy to install too.

Everything runs on a rail system.  Each rail is a silver metal piece that is covered by a black plastic piece that slides over it.  The first step is attaching the silver rail to the wall.  I found and marked the studs in my wall, and then used my impact driver to drill 2.5″ screws into the studs.  A drill works perfectly for this part too!  I used my level on this part as well to make sure each rail was straight.

After attaching the silver piece, you just slide on the black plastic piece right over it.

Installing Rubbermaid FastTrack

Then, each attachment just clicks onto the rail.  SIMPLE.  AWESOME.

And, the attachments easily slide on the rails making it super easy to customize.  I love it.  Check out the rest of the space!

Garage Tool Organization

Love how these little hooks hold my jigsaws and sander…

And remember my lumber storage rack I built?  I was using the pegboard system on the back to hold my drills and other tools I use on nearly every project.  Not anymore!

  1. I’m so jealous… I’d be a happy camper if my tools were half as organized as yours. Seems I spend more time and energy looking for a tool than I do actually using it. Thanks so much for the opportunity – my fingers are crossed!

  2. I am about to purchase my first house and Ill definitely need the FastTrack system to organize all my tools and hobby gear. Great idea!

  3. My dad has a HUGE workshop, but it is a total disaster. Haha. He flips houses (the one he currently lives in) and also works for Habitat for Humanity. I’d love to win this for him and help him get his shop better organized and easier for him to see all the great tools he has available!

  4. I would use this system to organize my gardening tools first. I’m sure my husband would enjoy the system as well.

  5. Ohhh…love this! I find pegboard a waste of space! I put up shelves to store our sanders, saws, drills, etc. Pretty sure I would take down those shelves and replace them with the Fast Track!

  6. I would use the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to organize my husband’s tools and add one track to my Laundry room to hang my mop, broom, and dust pan! I would also use a track to organize things on my wall in my office because it’s a really small space, so I’d like to hang little baskets from there! So many ideas and choices I can use the tracks on. I hope I’m a winner! THANKS! 😀

  7. Would love to get my garage organized so that my husband and I can get our wood working business off the ground!!

  8. I will use the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to get the power tools off the floor and work bench and up on the wall in an organized fashion. Hopefully this will help my husband to keep the garage organized and realize it will be much easier to find the tool he needs if he would just put it away where it belongs. The Rubbermaid FastTrack system could be a marriage saver.

  9. I would use the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to organize my garage! I LOVE this idea! My roommates just moved out and, for the first time in a long time, I finally feel like I have space for MY things, especially my tools. I recently purchased a gently-used Ridgid 12′ miter saw and a tiny collection of Ryobi tools (based on your reviews/suggestions) and I would love to create a more organized and effective workspace. I thoroughly enjoy #buildinglikeagirl, but the OCD in me is struggling with the lack of order. I would be so very thankful to win this sweet setup! Thank you!

  10. Garage definitely. We just moved into our home not very long ago and I think great organization would help motivate my husband to help me build all of the shanty2chic projects I have on my list:)

  11. I’d use this to organize my dad’s garage. He can never find his tools and this would be a great way to put things within eyesight/reach.

  12. I could totally use this to organize the neverending mess that is our garage. We need a better way to organize our rakes, shovels and extension cords. Or, it may be even better at organizing all the baseball bags and miscellaneous equipment that is slowly taking over. Thanks for the great giveaway!!

  13. I would use the fast track system to hang all my tools in the garage. Right now they are in cabinets and it is hard to get them in and out without knocking something else. Having easy access also lets me finishup the projects that i am delaying on.
