My girls asked if we could make some flower clips over the weekend so I thought it would be a good time for a refresher.  I have shown how to make these on a headband but these flowers are backed with a clip.  My girls love wearing them and I like to borrow them every once in a while too.  We made them together and it would make a great Summer craft. They also make great gifts!

I started with some cheap flowers I found at Hobby Lobby.

I pulled off one of the flowers from the stem.

Then I pulled off the remainder of the flower to get to the petals.

I cut a felt circle just smaller than the size of my flower.

Then, I hot glued the petals down to the felt one layer at a time.

Here it is all layered up…

Finally, it’s bling time.  I like to use rhinestones on the smaller flowers.  I put a little spit water on a small dowel to pick up and place my rhinestone in the center of the flower.

Finally, I added my clip.  I like to purchase my snap clips at RibbonRetreat.com but you can also find them at Hobby Lobby and Sally’s.  I just open it up and run some glue along the top. Watch you fingers 🙂

That’s it.  Simple, cheap and so cute.  These are just a couple that I have made using this method.

And of course Ash likes to make them too!  Her collection trumps mine for real.  And here is her little one modeling a flower at Easter…

Love. The flower and the picture of course 😉

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don’t forget about our Shanty Suppers party on the 19th!  We are so excited about it!

  1. Well, I don’t have any little girls to wear these. My little girl is a big girl now, and my little grands are both boys. It was worth reading just to get to the wonderful baby pictures…love them!

  2. Those are so cute! and I LOVE that last picture. I feel bad when my son cries, but his face is too funny when he does! 🙂

  3. So cute!! Thanks for the tute, my little one is 3, and only has like 4 hairs on her precious head….(Ok, I’m joking. She has about 10 now. 😛 ) and we are all sick of strangers asking us what our ‘son’s’ name is, or how old is ‘he’, even when she’s dressed in all pink! Sigggghh….. THis should help, and she’s just so girly, I know she’ll love to wear them, too. 🙂
