Hey there!  I am SO excited that I have benches to match my new Triple Pedestal Farmhouse Table!

DIY-Furniture-Bench

Thanks to Ana White and her awesome PLANS, I was able to build two of these 9-foot bad boys for $90 total!

DIY-Furniture

So, the grand total for my Triple Pedestal Farmhouse Table and Benches is…. $215!  Click HERE for the Triple Pedestal Farmhouse Table Plans!

You can get the plans for the Triple Pedestal Farmhouse Bench Plans from Ana HERE and you can follow along my build for pointers below;)

Gorilla-Glue_edited-1

I assembled the legs with Gorilla Glue wood glue.  The steps to build the legs are the exact same as the table (just smaller) so this was a piece of cake!

The decorative arches were a bit tedious (there are 24 for 2 benches!!!) but they were easy and they really make the whole piece!

Now for the seats:)

Kreg-Jig

I couldn’t have built this with out my Kreg Jig!  It is a lifesaver and makes every piece of furniture not only easier to build but super sturdy!  It will more than pay for itself with this dining set!

Assembling the frame with Kreg Jig pocket holes and screws.

Frames done…EASY!

bench-seatsI also used my Kreg Jig to built the panels for the inside of the frames.  Make sure to measure and cut as you go for the best accuracy.  I also dry-fit my panels in the frames before attaching all of the boards.

I stained all of the pieces before assembling the top to the legs!

Rust-Oleum-Early-American_thumb1

I chose one of our favorites, Rust-Oleum Early American, to stain the table and the benches!  I painted it on with a bristle brush and wiped away after about 5 minutes.  Temperature can vary set-time.  For colder weather, wait a little longer before wiping.

I followed with one coat of Rust-Oleum Polyurethane in satin!

After letting the pieces dry, I brought them in the house and assembled the seats to the legs!

DIY-Furniture

I’m so in LOVE with my dining set!   With a little elbow grease and awesome plans, I now have a gorgeous dining set for only $215!  There is plenty of room for our family of 5 to sit with guests over and fit comfortably:)

DIY-Furniture-BenchMy kids love to spread out and do their homework and artwork and I love that I don’t have to worry about them ruining an expensive piece of furniture!  This set goes to show that you don’t need to pay expensive retail prices to have beautiful, well-built furniture in your home!

What’s on your DIY building wish list?

Thanks so much for stopping by:)

  1. Anna’s website list specificity Ryobi and the Jig….. I know this plan is old news but for anyone looking to try and build this, unless you have the tools already don’t go for it. Jig is over $100… how would I get my money out of it unless I make more furniture?
I’m a old farmer, husband, and father….. built and farm, house, bedrooms, and everything in between……have never come across such gap filled plans or poor cut sheets. Doesn’t list wood type, missing most dimensions…. how many people actually built this? How much money did “Anna” make from name dropping brand names by specific? Your a joke ma’am and fraud. Cheers!

  2. I would like my benches to slide in completely under the table. But i think with the build the legs wouldn’t allow that. Would the bench still be strong enough if I moved the legs in just enough so that the bench would slide all the way in?? I need that extra room!!!

  3. We are having trouble making the arches for the benches, any tips on how and what you used?

  4. Hi – the cut list is for both benches ? We decided to make just 1 bench and do chairs on the other side. Just trying to get correct list of materials needed for 1 bench. Thanks!

  5. Anybody make any sort of chairs for the ends of the table? I really like it overall, but especially with older relatives sitting on a bench may not be the most comfortable for everyone. Looking at making this for our new house we will be closing on in May, but I have to work out all the kinks before I get approval from my better half. 🙂 I’m also planning to make it 2/3 length with sliders for a leaf and a removable center leg. It’ll add some cost for sure, but seeing as how there are only three of us currently, for daily use it may be kind of overwhelming having such an awesomely huge table. 🙂

  6. Hi! I finished the table and am about to start on the bench…yay! I should have stained the boards before I connected with kreg jig, as now you can see unstained white wood. Any recommendations as how to stain in the small cracks? just kind of bothers me 🙂 thanks!

    1. Hi! That’s so exciting! We use foam brushes and roller and I dab a bunch of stain on the cracks until the wood soaks it up. Hope this helps!

  7. Recently I was extremely low on money and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money on the internet! I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills! I’m so glad, I did this! – rg5W
