What better way to start the week off than with an awesome giveaway and a before and after!! I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to make my bedroom “guest ready” with some great items from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Wal-Mart! I chose my master bedroom because it has been so neglected since we moved in our home. It was “that room” that I preferred not to show anyone because it just wasn’t “guest ready”. Well, I got the motivation with this great BHG challenge and I LOVE the items I found! I also chose to spruce up my master bath a bit because I am in the process of revamping it as well!
Here is the before of my master bedroom:
After I did a little BHG sprucing:
I added the two square, ruffled pillows and the two super cute drum shades and moved on to the bathroom:)
Before:
After a few BHG picks;)
The additions to the bathroom are the two iron sconces, the metal plate (2 per package) and…
these super cute candlesticks! Two rooms, guest ready for under $100!
Now here is the great part! One lucky winner will have the chance to make their home guest ready with a $100 Wal-Mart gift card from Better Homes and Gardens! To enter, just leave us a comment sharing the room in your home you would like to make guest ready and why! We will announce the winner a week from today!
Here are a few more pics of my master bedroom and bath! Good luck to all of you! Don’t forget to stop by and “like” the BHG Facebook fan page!
A huge thank you to BHG for helping me to make my master bedroom and bath guest ready! Now it’s your turn;)
Good luck!

Complete make over. Great job. I just purchased my first home and I would love to make my bedroom “guest ready”. Great blog. Thanks!
I would like to make my son’s room guest ready. We are switching out his toddler bed for a twin bed so it needs a whole new look. Also, he will get the boot when visitors come to town so I really want it to be a welcoming room.
Yes, please!
It’s amazing how a few good pieces can transform a room! My 5 month-old baby’s room needs to double as a guest room now and could sure use a little help!
I would update my dining room to make it guest ready! One corner of it houses our “music room” (i.e., a piano, a bookshelf of music, and two guitars) but it really needs some separation from the rest of the room (the actual dining part!) using a rug or something.
Wow, what a difference. Where did you find your comforter? Everything looks so nice. I want to “freshen” my kitchen.
Our family room! It is the one room I have done nothing with, lol!!
My bathroom needs some updates. Painting your furniture white made a HUGE difference!
I’d definitely use the money to help out our poor master bath…we decided to not do much to it because we are the only ones that see it, but I think we are due for some sprucing! 😉
We just bought a house and we definitely need to get at least one of the rooms guest ready!!
My daughter’s room would be our guest room, and it needs some freshening up! She is 21 and housesits all the time, so it sits empty most of the time; just ready for company to come a’callin!
love how they turned out! i can’t belive you got so much for $100, that’s awesome.
i like them on facebook! i would buy new dishes, mine are fit for company!
What a beautiful and restful room. Your guests are very lucky. I love the pillows especially!
I would like to make my guest room guest ready. It has all the leftover decorating stuff I don’t love and the color on the wall was a $5 can of oops paint I also don’t really like. I’d love to win!
I would love to work on our Master Bed and Bath as well…. it is the last room iun the house that I want to share with people because all of our focus has gone on the rest of the house instead!
