Garage Organization & GIVEAWAY!!

Now, who doesn’t love a little garage organization??  I have been working on getting my shop revamped for the last few months.  I am slowly tackling every nook and cranny to make the most out of the space and use every inch 🙂  One of my latest projects to tackle was upgrading from the pegboard system I have been using as tool storage, to the Rubbermaid FastTrack system!  Can we talk about how much I LOVE this system??  Check out how I set it up!

Rubbermaid Garage Organization

This is my wall of tools that don’t get used as often… Minus the radio!  I love how I can hang my radio and it’s perfectly in reach all the time!

Garage Storage Idea

And the hanging baskets are perfect for holding my bagged tools and shop towels.  I also keep my Clorox wipes in there for when I spill stain and paint… Which happens fairly often 😉

Garage Wall Storage

This system has been a lifesaver.  No more stinkin’ silver pegboard hooks falling on the ground!  Game changer.  It was crazy easy to install too.

Everything runs on a rail system.  Each rail is a silver metal piece that is covered by a black plastic piece that slides over it.  The first step is attaching the silver rail to the wall.  I found and marked the studs in my wall, and then used my impact driver to drill 2.5″ screws into the studs.  A drill works perfectly for this part too!  I used my level on this part as well to make sure each rail was straight.

After attaching the silver piece, you just slide on the black plastic piece right over it.

Installing Rubbermaid FastTrack

Then, each attachment just clicks onto the rail.  SIMPLE.  AWESOME.

And, the attachments easily slide on the rails making it super easy to customize.  I love it.  Check out the rest of the space!

Garage Tool Organization

Love how these little hooks hold my jigsaws and sander…

And remember my lumber storage rack I built?  I was using the pegboard system on the back to hold my drills and other tools I use on nearly every project.  Not anymore!

  1. I would use it to store my new power tools and wood working project stuff at my new house! Just bought my first home, and can’t wait to make everything from prayer boards to furniture with all the free plans you list online. As a single mom I need to save money, and making things myself is so fun and rewarding as well as much more budget friendly. My sons and I will have lots to make together!

  2. I would organize my garage and ressurrect my lost joy of wood-working. My porch is falling apart. The rear entry has mold damage. If I had the tools and the FAST TRACK… the garage would be my lab. Then maybe my wife would have something to be proud of me about.

  3. Love building furniture and have used a lot of your ideas. Being more organized would be great. Thanks

  4. We recently moved from goergia to Kansas. Our new garage won’t fit our cars and my workshop.
So…the car gets the driveway…and this Southern girl won’t like scrapin ice off her windshield every morning! I would use the Rubbermaid FastTrack System to organize my garage by putting my tools and gadgets up and out of the way. The freed up space would let me move our car back into the warmth! That would make for one super happy gal!

  5. I would be so thankful to have this organizing system in my
garage. I have collected many tools to use for projects and repairs, but I have yet to be able to organize them efficiently. I am the “repair woman” in
our home. I would rather do projects while my husband fixes dinner. I love
the DIY projects on the Shanty 2 Chic site. I am the creativity that they inspire in me! Being organized would surely keep me ready for the many more fun projects that I am sure that they have in store.

  6. I love this! We have a small one car garage and we are always trying to organize it. The thing that frustrates us the most is all of our brooms, mops, yard tools etc. I know this Fast Track system would help us out with all of that. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  7. If you could see my basement, esp. the work place that my husband uses for his tools of many years. He has been trying to organize it for over 6 mos. and looking better, but not quite there so this would be a tremendous starting point and help!

  8. I would use the Rubbermaid fast track system in my room I store all my crafts. I also keep gifts I buy throughout the year on clearance. This would give me so much room and I would actually be able to find the stuff I look for.

  9. I would use the system to surprise my husband when he comes home from deployment! He’s been underway 3 months on a submarine. I’ve been organizing all his tools and the garage for him as a surprise! I had a guy friend teach me how to use the tools so I hung pegboard for him as part of the surprise and this system would be PERFECT for it! He used to build me things on a 3 foot card table, I recently bought him an 8ft Gladiator workbench and I CANNOT WAIT for him to come home to his new mancave-he deserves it!
