Now, who doesn’t love a little garage organization??  I have been working on getting my shop revamped for the last few months.  I am slowly tackling every nook and cranny to make the most out of the space and use every inch 🙂  One of my latest projects to tackle was upgrading from the pegboard system I have been using as tool storage, to the Rubbermaid FastTrack system!  Can we talk about how much I LOVE this system??  Check out how I set it up!
This is my wall of tools that don’t get used as often… Minus the radio! Â I love how I can hang my radio and it’s perfectly in reach all the time!
And the hanging baskets are perfect for holding my bagged tools and shop towels.  I also keep my Clorox wipes in there for when I spill stain and paint… Which happens fairly often 😉
This system has been a lifesaver. Â No more stinkin’ silver pegboard hooks falling on the ground! Â Game changer. Â It was crazy easy to install too.
Everything runs on a rail system. Â Each rail is a silver metal piece that is covered by a black plastic piece that slides over it. Â The first step is attaching the silver rail to the wall. Â I found and marked the studs in my wall, and then used my impact driver to drill 2.5″ screws into the studs. Â A drill works perfectly for this part too! Â I used my level on this part as well to make sure each rail was straight.
After attaching the silver piece, you just slide on the black plastic piece right over it.
Then, each attachment just clicks onto the rail. Â SIMPLE. Â AWESOME.
And, the attachments easily slide on the rails making it super easy to customize. Â I love it. Â Check out the rest of the space!
Love how these little hooks hold my jigsaws and sander…
And remember my lumber storage rack I built?  I was using the pegboard system on the back to hold my drills and other tools I use on nearly every project.  Not anymore!
Ahhhhh it makes me so happy! Â You can find the system at lots of places like Home Depot, Target and online!
The best part?? Â I have teamed up with our friends at Rubbermaid to do a great giveaway for you guys! Â We are giving 5 lucky winners this FastTrack set!

Leave us a comment below telling us!
We will pick 5 winners this Friday to receive a FastTrack system!

I would use this in my garage. I need to make better use of wall space. This would definitely get me off to a great start.
I would use this to organize my husband’s tools in the garage. That way I can find the drill when I really need it! LOL
I would use the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to discourage my current MOUSE problem (yes, I said “mouse problem”—-not what you were thinking, I’m sure)!
Currently, I have virtually no storage on my back (covered) patio, so my mitre saw and some other heavier tools are nestled all together in a corner. This corner happens to be near to where my dryer vent/outlet is, so as you might think, this has created a warm, cozy (and covered) paradise for a few undesired guests (gross, I know).
With this fast track system, I would be able to store all of my tools off the ground, forcing my unwanted guests to find somewhere else to shack up! Ahhhh, the struggles of being a “project girl” with no dedicated storage- or workspace.
I have four kids and would use it to organize all of their sports equipment in the garage. They are all involved in numerous sports and I am always trying to think of a way to organize it without taking up too much room. The Fast Track seems like the perfect solution. It is heavy enough to hold a baseball bag, but has the baskets for cleats and balls. Thanks Rubbermaid for helping me to organize the chaos.
I would love to win this organization system to finally get all my husbands tools in order. We have done a lot of renovation work in our home over the 15 years we have owned it and we have accumulated many drills, saws, etc. But it’s a huge mess in our garage. He built a new shed to store everything but never really organized anything in the garage or the new shed. So YES this beautiful and useful system would do wonders for our life and our marriage since I wouldn’t be nagging him all the time to organize his stuff.
I’ve just inherited a garage full of tools from my dad and grandad. Some are very very old and some are newer. I’d really like a way to keep it organized!
I would use the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to organize all my lawn tools. My rakes, shovels, weedeater etc are just laying around the garage with no order to them. I would also like a better way to organize all of our tools.
I have been waiting to get this system but just wasn’t sure how well it works. It looks great and easy!!! I would use it to organize all of my tools and keep them away from little hands. I just started building displays and house hold décor and I’m excited to get things organized my way and not have to rely on my hubby 🙂
We are moving into a new house and this would be amazing to help organize the garage!
WOW, just found your site TODAY!! While watching the KREG DIY Project kit… my daughter and I have a little florist in St. Louis — we struggle everyday in our current space and finally after 10 years of VERY hard work are hopefully are moving into a new space. We cannot afford to hire a carpenter and I am trying to build all the new display units myself ..and now have a mess — I need help organizing my garage to be much more efficient … this system would be a HUGE help. I could actually have everything at hand … I am loving actually get to work with wood vs. just using bits and pieces of wood for small little art projects. I can’t wait to explore your website even more!!!!
I build like a girl so need to organize like one with the Rubbermaid FastTrack System! I’ve accumulated many tools and supplies so I can try all the Shanty 2 Chic projects. Everything is leaning against the wall on the garage floor taking up far too much space and I can only drive over my drill so many times before it breaks! Organize me Rubbermaid! Only your system can! Here’s to Girl Building Power!
Just bought a new house and I finally have a true shop, well kind of… the house was built in 1918 and in the shop they used the sides of boxes for insulation along the walls and ceiling -it needs lots of help and love! but to do this, i need lots of organization!! I am building several pieces of furniture to go in the house when we move in and need all the help I can get. Oh and did i mention, the inside of the house is getting an overhaul too:) again, all the help i can get!
Our shed needs some major organization… I’d start there and then move to the garave!
Finally at 65 years old I have a garage of my own. I am collecting tools needed for DIY projects. Starting with building an organizational system first so I can find my tools easily. I have always wanted to build things, but never had the opportunity and confidence. But now I am on my own and going to build like crazy. I am now retired and have a lot of time on my hands. I love that you both are women that doing what you love and made a business out of your love for DIY.
I will be using your free plans (mostly free because I now live on social security) and following you on the web. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and projects.

I would organize my potting bench and my power tools!
