Hey guys!!
We have had lots of questions about our nurseries.  Ash revealed hers a few weeks ago.  I have been waiting until I feel like it’s totally “finished” but knowing my personality that reveal may not happen until she is 2 years old.  So… Here we go 🙂
This is E’s bed.  We found it pretty cheap at Baby Depot.  I think it was right at $200 and it converts to a toddler bed so I was happy.
This is the armoire that was black and in the living room in it’s previous life.  A little paint goes a long way!
I know Ash received a less than friendly comment about the TV in her nursery.  Well, guess what??  Behind those doors hides a TV in my nursery too!  Do our babies watch these? Obviously not.  But, we do enjoy sitting in the rockers with the babies and watching TV.  You know what else??  I bottle feed!  I guess with the TV and bottle feeding combined I might just be in the running for “worst mom of the year”.  Seriously people. :-))
Here is the entire wall with my magnetic photo board!
And a little nightstand I revamped.  That is the lamp I showed you guys HERE!
Window shot.
That amazing trunk is one of my next projects.  I think it will go red… What you think??
Chest of drawers…
Painted it yellow and added those great $2 Hobby Lobby knobs!
I LOVE our bedding!  I was ready to whip out the sewing machine and make my own until Ashley sent me a picture of the bedding she chose.  I told her I would be copying and I did just that!
I love the prints of the fabrics!
Bedskirt…
Bumper…
And my rocker (that I happily watch TV in:)…
This rocker started green and I slipcovered it with a thick, soft brown corduroy.
I can show you a tutorial on that later.  Not too hard but oh so time consuming.
And my curtains!  I made these using a drop cloth and attaching some fabric and ribbon to the bottom.
And one more shot…
That’s about it!
I’m sure you noticed some blank wall space.  It’s all in my head but getting it done will happen soon enough.  I’ll keep you posted on it!
Don’t forget about tonight’s party!

See you then!

  1. I nursed both my kids and am an early literacy specialist who repeatedly tells parents and teachers no TV before the age of two. Guess what…. I think a TV in the nursery is a stroke of genius! I watched so much TV those first few months; it was the only thing that kept me awake for ALL of those middle of the night feedings. I would recommend, as you probably already know, a DVD player/DVR. I ordered some jacked-up stuff off of infomercials in my sleep-deprived state. Slim in Six anyone? I wonder how many of our nobel prize winners, presidents and rocket scientists were bottle-fed… I am guessing quite a few. All that to say… .your nursery is beautiful!

  2. Oh my! How precious!!! Thank you for the tips and ideas. I am not having a child any time soon but I will definitely keep these ideas in mind for the future 🙂

    Cheers!

  3. oh that bedding is soo adorable. i love it. the space is such a peaceful and comfortable space. you did such a nice job. i am so jealous of your armoire with a tv!
enter sarcasm: i wish i had a tv in my babies room so i could prop up that bottle and flip on the tube! ya know thats why we have kids… so we can lock them away.im sure the "haters" who comment have thought really hard about the good and evil of tv… yet here they are using INTERNET, which has NO filter. give me a break.
you did an awesome job. thanks for sharing!

  4. Your nursery is darling! I laughed out loud about the worst mom of the year award! I am constantly sarcastically joking that I will get the Mother Of The Year Award, also known as the MOTY(mow-tee)Award… I have three teenagers, so my opportunities for this are endless! And I think if you having a tv in your nursery is what you want, more power to you! I remember once when my daughter had her first cold and she could only sleep if I rocked her and held her upright over my shoulder. I would have enjoyed some HGTV for the 5hours I rocked her and she slept.

  5. love love love…everything! that's why I never fed my son in his room…no tv! haha! I will have to find a place for a tv in baby #2's room! Where did you get the curtain rod? it looks pretty substantial!! I'm going to have to try the drop cloth curtains…so adorable!

  6. it's beautiful! Sometimes watching TV is the only way to keep YOURSELF awake when taking care of a baby!

  7. I love it! So precious. 🙂
I love the yellow pieces of furniture too. So bright and cheery.
Enjoy watching tv as you bottle feed your baby!! You go girl!

  8. I can't decide if I like your baby's nursery or your sister's better! They are both so dang cute! You guys are just my favorite girls!!

  9. Looks amazing. I would love to see the tutorial for a slipcover. I would love to recover my nursery rocker just like yours.

  10. Tv and bottle feed??? Next thing you know you will be giving the baby mcdonald's french fries!! Don't people just kill you when they give you their opinions on how you should raise YOUR OWN CHILD???
Love the nursery – as well as everything you have ever done on your blog.

  11. So cute!! Can't wait to decorate my next nursery! We're about to move to a new house, and I'll for sure be using me some drop cloths. Yay! I'm so encouraged by everyone's comments on mothering. I needed that! Drives me nutty when moms/women judge one another…for reals, like we need one more thing to mess with our minds and hormones. 🙂 By golley, I'm putting a darn tv on my next registry…haha, such a fabulous idea! And bottle feeding saves me from insanity! Thank the Lord for bottles!
