Mason Jar Key Hook

Hey guys!  Hope you all had a great Wednesday 🙂

I have a fun project to share today!

I started with a 1×8 board from Lowe’s that I cut to about 2′ long.  I used a different paint method on this board and I love how it turned out so I am going to share it with you in my next post.  So for now… Here is my board after it is painted and ready to go.

I also purchased 3 hooks and a pipe clamp from Lowe’s.  You can find the pipe clamps in the plumbing section.  I bought the smallest 3″ clamp and it was under $2.

My next step was attaching them to my board.  I used my drill to attach my hooks first.

Then it was time to attach the clamp.  After attempting to drill a hole in the darn thing for 30 minutes I decided to hammer a hole in it instead.  I just put a thick nail on one of the little openings and hit it hard with a hammer. Done.  I then wished I would have tried that 30 minutes ago.

I used a 3/4″ wood screw to attach it to my board.

Finally, I added to picture hangers to the back of it and hung it up.  Mine is on the wall leading just into the garage.  I dropped a mason jar into the ring and added a few cotton blossom twigs I found at Michael’s.

I love it.  It makes me happy when I look at it. 🙂

I’m thinking these would be super cute hand towel hooks for the bathroom.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

I will show you my new paint method in my next post so stay tuned.  It’s super easy and distresses perfectly… Whoop!

  2. By still my heart–simplistic perfection! Definitely gorgeous in a bathroom. And your took great pictures–thank you!

  3. How did you hang it on the wall? Would it be secure enough to hang towels on? I love it, but would be nervous of accidentally pulling it off the wall when I grabbed a towel.

  4. I’m thinking about putting one of these in my pool house to hang towels. Of course, I will fill the jar with shells and sand dollars that we have found on the beach!

  5. I love the combo of the jar and the hooks on the same board. You could also do one to hang above it with all jars and fill with sand and candles for a beachy look for summer. Change out seasonally to other things like dark colored beans and candles for the fall, fake cranberries and candles for the winter, etc. Would be so cute!

  6. Love this. I’ve featured this post on Craft Gossip here:

  8. I’m totally doing this!
I am starting my own linky party tomorrow! It’s the first one. I would love it if you would participate! It’s called $10 Tuesdays and it’s for things that cost less than $10 and take 20-30 mins (ish) to complete. I love inexpensive and quick projects and I’m guessing others will too 😉 Thanks so much for considering.
